Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) in Woodbury, MN seeks an Emergency Veterinary Assistant (Per Diem) to support busy ER teams. You’ll triage, assist with treatments, monitor anesthesia, and help with rounds in a fast-paced setting.

Training and growth are emphasized as you work with credentialed technicians and veterinarians. The role requires a high school diploma and comfort in a noisy, odor-rich environment; nights, weekends, and holidays may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Enrolled in AVMA-accredited program is a plus.
• 1+ years in veterinary assistant role (emergency or specialty is a bonus).
• Basic computer skills and understanding of practice management software/EMR.

Responsibilities

• Be the first warm welcome and triage incoming patients.
• Assist with treatments, nursing care, and diagnostics.
• Set up and monitor anesthesia and sedation cases with clinicians.
• Manage IV fluids, transfusions, and medications.
