Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) in Greenwood Village, CO is seeking an Emergency Veterinary Assistant. You will be at the heart of the action, supporting your team, comforting pet parents, and learning on the go through real-time experience.

This role offers growth from assistant to credentialed technician through structured training. You’ll assist with triage, treatments, anesthesia support, and monitoring, while developing clinical skills and progressing along guided pathways.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Enrolled in AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program a plus.
• 1+ years in a veterinary assistant role (emergency or specialty experience is a bonus).
• Basic computer skills and EMR knowledge.
• Excellent communicator with pet parents and team.
• Ability to lift up to 25 kg and work in a noisy environment.

Responsibilities

• Be the first warm welcome and triage incoming patients.
• Assist with treatments, nursing care, and diagnostics.
• Support anesthesia and sedation setup with team.
• Set up IV fluids, blood transfusions, and medication administration.
• Support care in outpatient or inpatient settings.
• Join rounds to maintain continuity of care.
• Learn CPR and RECOVER Certified Rescuer training.
• Grow into advanced roles via guided training pathways.
