Job summary

VEG is a veterinary emergency company seeking a part-time Emergency Veterinary Assistant. From day one you'll support the team, comfort pet parents, and learn on the job in a fast-paced environment.

You'll assist with triage, treatments, and monitoring, work alongside credentialed technicians and veterinarians, and have pathways toward credentialed technician roles or anesthesia support through guided training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Enrolled in an AVMA-accredited vet tech program is a plus.
• 1+ years in veterinary assistant role (emergency or specialty a bonus).
• Basic computer skills and EMR experience.
• Excellent communicator with pet parents and your team.

Responsibilities

• Triaging incoming patients and guiding them toward care.
• Assist with treatments, nursing care, and diagnostics.
• Set up and monitor anesthesia and sedation with clinicians.
• Manage IV fluids, blood transfusions, and medications.
• Join patient rounds and ensure continuity of care.
• Learn CPR and RECOVER Certified Rescuer training.
