Job summary

Ethos Veterinary Health’s Pacific Northwest Pet ER & Specialty Center in Vancouver, WA—a 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital just outside Portland—seeks a skilled Veterinary Assistant to join our day shift. This full-time role offers a fast-paced environment with high-acuity cases and a supportive, wellness-focused team.

In this position you will assist licensed technicians and veterinarians, perform radiographs and lab work, obtain patient histories, communicate with clients, and maintain

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of experience in veterinary medicine; ER preferred.
• Must obtain a Veterinary Medication Clerks License upon hire and keep active.
• Must have a valid high school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed technicians and veterinarians with patient care in the emergency department.
• Assist technicians with radiographic procedures.
• Prepare and run lab work.
• Obtain accurate patient histories.
• Client communication and accurate record-keeping.
• Discharge patients and provide nursing care.
• Restrain patients for IV catheters and minor procedures.
• Provide timely treatments and initiate fluid therapy.
