Ethos Veterinary Health's Pacific Northwest Pet ER & Specialty Center in Vancouver, WA is hiring a Veterinary Assistant - Emergency (Day Shift). The role offers $20-$24/hr with $2/hr overnight and weekend differentials, with a full-time, day-shift schedule in a 24/7 emergency hospital.

Rotating holidays and on-call participation are required. The ideal candidate has 2+ years in veterinary medicine, ER experience preferred, and must obtain a Veterinary Medication Clerk License on hire.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of two years of experience in veterinary medicine.
• ER experience is preferred.
• Must be able to obtain a Veterinary Medication Clerks License upon hire.
• Must have a valid high school diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of patient handling and restraint.
• Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Flexible and able to adapt to new situations.

Responsibilities

• Manage and provide for the patient’s needs in the emergency department with licensed staff.
• Assist technicians with radiographic procedures.
• Prepare and run lab work.
• Obtain accurate patient histories and maintain records.
• Communicate with clients and discharge patients.
• Restrain patients for procedures and initiate fluid therapy as needed.
• Support on-call rotation and rotating holidays in the ER/critical care.
