Job summary

MedVet is a fast-growing Emergency and Specialty provider with practices nationwide. The team seeks collaborative and driven individuals to join our clinical crew in McMurray, PA.

This Emergency Veterinary Assistant role offers variety, hands-on patient care, and the chance to work with a dedicated care team. You will assist in patient evaluation, anesthesia induction, nursing care, client education, and veterinary procedures in a high-energy ER setting, with ongoing training and opportunities

Qualifications

• Prior veterinary experience required.
• Emergency experience desired.
• Proficient in calculations for drugs, CRIs, and unit conversions.
• Flexible with work hours and able to work additional hours as needed.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather information as necessary.
• Evaluate incoming patients and prioritize based on assessment.
• Partner with patient care team regarding treatment plans, client communication and nursing care concerns.
• Provide client education including home care instructions and medications.
• Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures.
• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients.
• Induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation procedures.
• Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside lab testing.

We are looking for: Emergency Veterinary Assistant

Our Emergency team is the perfect place for technicians who thrive in a fast-paced environment, can shift gears quickly and handle the stress of critical situations with ease. Every day is different and there's never the same case twice!

Whatyou'll do:

Who you are:

• Prior veterinary experience required;previous emergency experience desired
