MedVet Medical & Cancer Centers for Pets in Cleveland, OH seeks an Emergency Veterinary Assistant to join a fast-paced ER team. The role supports patient care from triage to anesthesia, with rotating weekend shifts and a competitive hourly range.

Responsibilities

• Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather information as necessary.
• Evaluate incoming patients and prioritize based on assessment.
• Partner with patient care team regarding treatment plans, client communication and nursing care concerns.
• Provide client education including home care instructions, medications, and wellness updates on hospitalized patients.
• Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures.
• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients.
• Induce and monitor anesthesia and sedation procedures.
• Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside laboratory testing.

Position

We are looking for: Emergency Veterinary Assistant

Proposed Schedule: 9a-9:30p Monday, Thursday, Rotating Saturday/Sunday

This role has a hiring range of $17.00-28.00/hr based on experience.

What you’ll do

• Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside laboratory testing

Who you are

• Prior veterinary experience required; previous emergency experience desired
• Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)
• Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
