Job summary

VEG is seeking a part-time Emergency Veterinarian to join our 24/7 emergency network in Seattle. You’ll lead emergency cases, perform surgeries and endoscopy, and collaborate closely with a team of VEGgies to deliver compassionate patient care.

You’ll be supported by mentorship and ongoing CE, with opportunities for growth in a fast-paced ER setting and flexible scheduling to accommodate life outside work.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent degree is required.
• Experience in emergency medicine and surgery is essential.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented ER environment.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 kg (40 kg with assistance).
• Noisy environments and strong odors are to be expected.

Responsibilities

• Answer medical questions and triage, prioritizing cases.
• Handle emergencies, perform surgeries and endoscopic procedures.
• Provide diagnostic plans and communicate options to clients.
• Prepare estimates and maintain accurate medical records.
• Educate clients on aftercare and preventative measures.
