Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree and eligible to practice in the United States.
• Interest in emergency medicine and willingness to participate in a structured mentorship program.
• Ability to work in a team and maintain high-quality patient care.
• Work authorization in the United States is required; visa sponsorship is not available.
• TN status may be considered for eligible candidates.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a 6–9 month mentoring program to transition into ER roles.
• Provide emergency clinical care under mentorship and supervision.
• Rotate through Emergency, Critical Care, Cardiology, and other services.
• Commit to a 1-year ER clinician position after training.
• Maintain professional communication with clients and the care team.

Emergency Veterinarian - Ethos ER Immerse Mentorship Program - Cincinnati & Dayton, OH

Care Center is seeking veterinarians passionate about working in emergency medicine for our 6-9-month training and mentorship program. We are looking for individuals who are team oriented, driven, reflective, and reliable to train with us and transition into an ER position at Care Centers Dayton and Cincinnati.

Located in the heart of southwest Ohio, Care Center Cincinnati is a bustling, multi-specialty and emergency hospital known for delivering outstanding patient care and fostering a culture of collaboration. As a cornerstone of the veterinary community in the region, our hospital features a highly skilled team, advanced equipment, and strong relationships with referring veterinarians.

The Ethos ER Immerse Training Program

The ER Immerse Program will prepare veterinarians for a sustainable and satisfying career in emergency medicine. Built from the ground up to be different than traditional rotating internship programs, the ERi program has been developed around a curriculum of core competencies essential for an emergency veterinarian. In addition to providing training around clinical knowledge and skills, the program also includes a focus on client and team member communication, professional skills, and life/work integration.

The ER Immerse program utilizes a hybrid training approach incorporating simulation-based didactic components into authentic training experiences with live patients. The curriculum is designed using an evidence-based strategy identifying competencies and skills deemed essential for a successful career as an emergency clinician.

Program Duration/Commitment

• 6-month training program beginning June/July 2027
• 1-year commitment as an ER clinician following training

• Care Center - Cincinnati: 6995 E Kemper Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45249 and Care Center-Dayton 6421 Clyo Road, Centerville, OH 45459

Program Highlights

• 5-day work week consisting of 4 clinical days, 1 didactic day, and 2 days off each week
• Rotate with other specialty services during the training program: Emergency, Critical Care, Cardiology, Integrative Medicine, Oncology, Medical Oncology, Surgery, and Radiology
• Surgical training
• Always work with a dedicated mentor on shifts
• Excellent post-training schedule: 3-day work week, no more than 3 shifts in a row, always 2 days off between working.
• Competency-based curriculum that includes asynchronous learning on Vetbloom and weekly live virtual didactic rounds
• Regular live continuing education events led by specialists and experienced emergency doctors
• ER Mentee Salary: $100,000.00

Work authorization in the United States is a requirement for the position. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship by the company, but candidates eligible for TN status may be considered.
