Job summary

VEG, a nationwide veterinary emergency group, seeks a Part-time Emergency Veterinarian to join a 24/7 ER network. You’ll handle a wide range of emergencies, including surgeries and exotics, with mentorship and VEG Education programs to support growth.

You'll lead on the hospital floor, collaborate with a committed team, provide urgent care, prepare client estimates, and educate on aftercare in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent degree required.
• Live and breathe emergency medicine, including trauma surgery and endoscopy.
• Thrive in a team-oriented hospital environment.
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis.

Responsibilities

• Answer medical questions over the phone
• See patients right away as part of the VEG Triage and VEG Spikes program
• Gather signalment, presenting complaint, vitals, and exam
• Conduct physical examinations and diagnostic testing
• Create diagnostic and therapeutic plans for each patient
• Communicate diagnosis and treatment options to clients
• Prepare estimates and present them to clients
• Create and review medical records for accuracy
• Perform emergency surgeries and endoscopic procedures
• Educate clients on aftercare and prevention mechanisms
