Job summary

VEG is seeking an Emergency Veterinarian to join our nationwide network of 24/7 ER hospitals. You’ll handle urgent cases, including surgeries and exotics, with mentorship and ongoing education through VEG Education programs and CE opportunities.

You’ll perform exams, develop diagnostic and treatment plans, communicate options to clients, and collaborate with a compassionate team dedicated to exceptional care for pets and their families. Nights and weekends required.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent degree is required.
• Experience in emergency medicine and surgery is essential.
• Familiarity with endoscopy is a plus.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented ER environment.

Responsibilities

• Answer medical questions and triage over the phone.
• Handle emergency cases and surgeries, including exotics.
• Gather signalment, presenting complaints, vitals, and exams.
• Prepare estimates and discuss treatment options with clients.
• Create and review medical records for accuracy.
• Educate clients on aftercare and preventative measures.
