Job summary

VEG ER for Pets is hiring an Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our front-line ER team. You will deliver advanced nursing care, triage, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care in a fast-paced environment, supporting doctors and pet-parents with empathy and expertise.

You will handle IVs, CRIs, transfusions, imaging, and procedures, while growing your skills and contributing to a best-in-class patient experience across our 24/7 hospitals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or higher in veterinary technology preferred
• Credentialed as a Veterinary Technician in the state VEG operates in
• 1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role, especially emergency or specialty medicine
• Proficient with practice management software and EMR systems
• Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 kg (with assistance to 40 kg)
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating schedule
• Strong communication and composure under pressure

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care, treatments, and monitoring from triage to discharge
• Assist with diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing
• Administer medications and manage IVs, CRIs, and transfusions
• Collaborate with doctors and other team members to plan patient care
• Perform CPR and use diagnostics, imaging, and sample collection tools
• Utilize advanced techniques (central lines, endoscopy, ultrasounds) as needed
• Maintain patient and family support during stressful moments
• Ensure accurate documentation in EMR and practice management systems
