Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) in New Jersey seeks a part-time Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our front-line ER team. You will perform triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing, while supporting pet parents during stressful moments.

You will collaborate with doctors and the VEG team to deliver gold-standard, emotionally intelligent care and grow your clinical skills in a fast-paced, high-energy emergency setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s or higher AVMA-accredited program preferred.
• Credentialed veterinary technician in the VEG state of practice; VTS in ECC/analgesia is a plus.
• 1+ year experience in veterinary technician role; emergency or specialty medicine preferred.
• Basic computer skills and EMR software knowledge.
• Excellent communicator; calm under pressure; able to lend a hand to teammates.

Responsibilities

• Treat patients and support families through tests, treatments, and discharge.
• Provide nursing care and emotional support in critical moments.
• Administer meds, monitor patients, and assist with IVs and CRIs.
• Assist with diagnostics, imaging, sample collection, and tubes placement.
• Assist anesthesia and advanced procedures as needed.
• Collaborate with doctors to shape care plans.
