Job summary

Midcoast Animal Emergency Clinic is seeking an experienced Emergency Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our fast-paced after-hours emergency team. This role requires the ability to independently manage a high-volume caseload, communicate clearly with clients and staff, and guide less experienced team members.

Shifts include evenings, weekends, and holidays, with opportunities to mentor others and contribute to a state-of-the-art facility offering in-house lab testing, imaging, surgery, and

Qualifications

• Licensed veterinary technician in Maine required or eligible for transfer
• Experience in emergency/urgent care settings preferred
• Proven ability to document patient care clearly and thoroughly

Responsibilities

• Rapidly assess emergency patients and prioritize care
• Perform physical assessments and document findings, treatments, and updates
• Anticipate needs of veterinarians and prepare patients, equipment, and areas
• Provide advanced nursing care to hospitalized, urgent, and emergent patients
• Assist with emergency stabilization, procedures, and monitoring
• Support anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery as directed
