Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring experienced Veterinary Technicians for our busy Emergency and Critical Care department in Nashville. The role requires handling anesthesia, triage, radiography, and continuous patient monitoring in a fast-paced setting.

Pay ranges from $21.00 to $41.00 per hour, reflecting experience and progression through our leveling system. Candidates with VTS credentialing can expect compensation commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• Experienced Veterinary Technician in emergency/critical care
• Ability to induce, monitor and recover anesthesia
• Proficient in triage and handling critically ill patients

Responsibilities

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients using anesthesia/monitoring equipment
• Triage emergency cases and monitor vitals (temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, BP)
• Perform digital radiography with proper technique and patient positioning
• Understand normal ranges of vital signs and alert clinicians to changes
• Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vitals; notify Veterinarian of changes
• Identify at-risk patients and initiate CPR
• Perform medical math and administer medications via appropriate routes
• Conduct phlebotomy and place IV catheters
• Place feeding tubes and central line catheters
• Mentor and train co-workers
• Address client concerns with empathy
