Job summary

United Veterinary Care is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our emergency and trauma team at the Veterinary Emergency Clinic. You will support veterinarians during triage, examinations, and medical treatments, providing direct care to canine and feline patients.

Candidates must handle high-stress situations, maintain strict sanitation, and work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays. Prior exposure to emergency care is preferred and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience as a veterinary technician.
• Must be flexible with scheduling and able to work weekends.
• Experience with veterinary software (Neo, AVImark, Cornerstone).
• Ability to work regular weekends, evenings and/or overnights.

Responsibilities

• Maintain medical records.
• Prepare surgical suite and surgical patients.
• Fill prescriptions.
• Perform laboratory work and diagnostic imaging.
• Provide compassionate high-quality care for boarded and hospitalized pets.
• Ensure cleaning protocols for all animal care areas.
• Provide client education when appropriate.
• Alert DVM promptly of any patient-related issues.
• Feed all animals their required diet and in the appropriate rations.
• Restock supplies.
• Excellent animal handling skills.
• Strong observation and evaluation skills.
• Work independently, efficiently, and calmly under challenging conditions.
