Job summary

VEG in Tampa, FL seeks an Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our front-line ER team. You will perform triage, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing, while providing compassionate support to pets and their families during stressful moments.

qualiified candidates have AVMA-accredited training, CVT/RVT/LV T/LVMT credentials, and 1+ year of ER experience. We offer strong benefits, learning opportunities, and a focus on growth and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in veterinary technology strongly preferred
• Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT/RVT/LV T/LVMT) in the state of practice is required; VTS in ECC, internal medicine or anesthesia is a plus
• 1+ year experience as a veterinary technician; emergency or specialty medicine experience preferred
• Basic computer skills and understanding of practice management software/EMR systems
• Excellent communication and ability to remain calm under pressure

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care, treatments, and emotional support from triage to discharge
• Handle emergencies across diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing
• Assist with IVs, CRIs, blood products, and other advanced procedures as needed
• Collaborate with doctors and teammates to plan and maintain care flow
• Perform CPR and respond swiftly in high-stress situations
• Utilize diagnostics, imaging, sample collection, and tube placement as required
• Support anesthesia for fragile patients and use advanced techniques when available
