Job summary

Thrive Pet Healthcare is seeking an Emergency Veterinary Technician Assistant in Round Rock, TX. You will support urgent patient care in a fast-paced emergency and specialty hospital, assisting with exams, treatments, and client service.

The role requires prior veterinary assistant or kennel tech experience, comfort with animal handling, and a desire to grow in emergency medicine. Weekend/evening/holiday shifts may be required to support patient care and hospital operations.

Qualifications

• Previous veterinary technician assistant or kennel tech experience is required.
• Comfortable handling and restraining animals safely and confidently.
• Interested in growing skills in emergency and specialty medicine.
• Able to support patient care, treatments, and hospital operations in a fast-paced environment.
• Dependable, compassionate, and collaborative.
• Willing to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with basic patient care and husbandry, including feeding, cleaning, and maintaining patient comfort
• Safely handling and restraining patients during exams, treatments, and procedures
• Support accurate and timely medical record documentation
• Performing basic laboratory tests and preparing samples as directed
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and fully stocked hospital environment
• Ensuring exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment are prepared and ready for patient care
• Supporting veterinarians and technicians to ensure efficient daily hospital operations
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support patient care, team success, and hospital operations
