Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Enrolled in AVMA-accredited veterinary tech program is a plus.
• 1+ year in a veterinary assistant role, emergency or specialty is a bonus.
• Basic computer skills and EMR familiarity.
• Excellent communication with pet parents and team.

Responsibilities

• Be the first warm welcome, triage patients and guide them toward care.
• Assist with treatments, nursing care, and diagnostics.
• Work with technicians and veterinarians on anesthesia and sedation.
• Set up IV fluids, transfusions, and medication administration.
• Support care in outpatient or inpatient settings.
• Join rounds to maintain continuity of care.
• Learn CPR and RECOVER certification with training.
• Grow into advanced responsibilities through training.
• Comply with state regulations and hospital needs.
