Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) is hiring an Emergency Veterinary Assistant to be at the heart of the action. You'll support your team, comfort pet parents, and learn the ropes in real time, covering triage, treatments, and monitoring across ER cases.

You’ll grow with VEG through guided training pathways toward credentialed technician status, with extensive learning opportunities and a robust benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Enrolled in AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program a plus.
• 1+ years in a veterinary assistant role (emergency or specialty experience a bonus).
• Basic computer skills and understanding of practice management software and EMR.
• Excellent communicator with pet parents and team.
• Fine motor skills for handling patients and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Be the first warm welcome and triage incoming patients.
• Assist with treatments, nursing care, and diagnostics from bloodwork to imaging.
• Support anesthesia and monitoring with credentialed staff.
• Manage IV fluids, blood products, and medications.
• Assist during every moment of care, inpatient or outpatient.
