PetVet Care Centers' Pacific & Santa Cruz Veterinary Specialists in Santa Cruz, California seeks an Emergency Veterinary Assistant to join our fast-paced ER team. You will triage, assist with exams and medications, monitor patients, and support licensed clinicians in a high-energy environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a veterinary assistant.
• Experience in triage, Sub-Q injections, history taking, restraint, assisting with exams and radiographs.
• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to all patients.
• Greet patients and owners, take weight and vital signs on arrival.
• Triage patients, assist with exams, administer medications as directed.
• Calm and soothe anxious patients.
• Assist doctors and technicians with medications and restraints.
• Perform lab tests and take radiographs.
• Maintain hospital equipment and proper documentation.
• Promote hospital products and services and support the organization.
• Respond to directions from DVM or LVT with urgency.
