Job summary

VEG invites passionate veterinary nurses to join our emergency care teams across our U.S. hospital locations. You will deliver high-level nursing care, monitor patients, and assist with anesthesia under licensed supervision, while collaborating with a skilled team to provide top-tier care for pets and their families.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate compassionate nursing care and ability to triage in emergency scenarios.
• Strong communication with peers, patients, and clients.
• Willingness to learn new techniques and adapt to fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• TREAT patients and customers with high compassion and care.
• Perform basic to intermediate nursing tasks and patient monitoring.
• Triage incoming patients using assessment skills and monitoring parameters.
• Administer subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenous medications; monitor for adverse effects.
• Set up and monitor IV fluid therapy including CRIs and transfusions.
• Collaborate with licensed veterinary technicians on inpatient and outpatient care.
• Participate in rounds to ensure continuity of care.
• Perform CPR as RECOVER Certified Rescuer.
• Collect samples and perform in-house diagnostics and imaging.
• Assist in anesthesia setup and monitoring with supervision.
• Place and manage urinary catheters and oxygen delivery devices.
• Operate oxygen cages and other oxygen delivery techniques.
• Grow through guided pathways toward roles such as trainer, coordinator, or leadership.
