Job summary

Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ seeks a Specialty Care ER Triage Technician to perform rapid assessments, triage, and stabilization within the ECC Service. You will coordinate patient flow, communicate updates to clients and clinicians, and support teaching and mentorship of students.

The role requires calm decision-making under pressure, strong clinical skills, and a commitment to patient-centered, team-based care. Flexible scheduling expected in a teaching hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Must have regular, predictable in-person attendance.
• Proficiency in emergency and triage protocols.
• Strong interpersonal and communications during high‑stress situations.
• Willing to work flexible hours including evenings/weekends.
• Commitment to continuing education and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Perform primary survey (airway, breathing, circulation) and assign acuity.
• Coordinate patient flow and notify clinicians of high-acuity arrivals.
• Triage client calls, document in medical records, and provide client updates.
• Adhere to infection control and OSHA standards.
• Assist in training veterinary students and junior staff.
