Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group The PC is seeking an Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician (Relief) to join our Arrowhead, AZ team on a per diem basis. You’ll contribute across triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring and critical care nursing, working closely with our doctors to deliver compassionate, high‑quality care for pets in emergencies.

Availability for nights, weekends, and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; AVMA-accredited associate degree preferred.
• Credentialed as a veterinary technician in the practice location; VTS a plus.
• 1+ years in veterinary technician role; emergency or specialty experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills and EMR knowledge.
• Excellent communicator and calm under pressure.
• Ability to stand, lift up to 25 kg; work in a noisy environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care and emotional support from triage to discharge.
• Assist with treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care.
• Handle IVs, transfusions, and other essential procedures.
• Collaborate with doctors and team to keep care flowing smoothly.
• Perform CPR and support emergency procedures as needed.
• Utilize imaging and sample collection tools as required.
