Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care needs.
• Ability to complete delegated tasks within scope of role.
• Knowledge of personal care and hygiene for quality of life.
• Understanding of patient safety risks in healthcare.
• Ability to convey respect and collaborate with patients and families.
• Knowledge of effective communication concepts and tools.
• BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA) Upon Hire.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with and supports the interprofessional team, patient, family and designated care partners.
• Performs validated and designated direct and indirect patient care activities to meet patient care needs under supervision of licensed clinical team members.
• Actively promotes and maintains a safe patient care environment.
• Provides assistance in maintaining supplies and equipment for unit operations.
• Conducts patient rounds, anticipates patient needs, and responds to call lights promptly.
• May serve as a virtual safety associate as needed based on campus needs.
• May facilitate, under the distant provider, a clinical exam using peripheral devices and telehealth software to ensure a comprehensive virtual encounter.
