Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a communications coordinator for LifeFlight and EMS coordination. The role handles flight requests, dispatches to appropriate areas, and ensures accurate documentation in EMS charts.

Responsibilities include monitoring heliport traffic, providing offload support, and coordinating specialty teams across WPAHS facilities, while maintaining data entry and charge processes in EPIC.

Qualifications

• Minimum GED/High School diploma.
• 2 years related experience.
• Preferred EMT with dispatching experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates flight requests and critical care ground transports; provides flight following for aviation vendor.
• Enters data for all activities performed within the communication center.
• Registers for LifeFlight transports and places charges in EPIC for flights and ground transports.
• Completes all appropriate documentation for patient care record in EMS charts.
• Provides primary support for One-Call.
• Coordinates and dispatches specialty teams within WPAHS facilities.
• Monitors all incoming traffic to heliport and safety watch.
• Receives EMS medical command notification and requests by telephone and radio.
• Provides offload support to flight team.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
