Job summary

UW Health East Madison Hospital is seeking an Emergency Technician - Paramedic for a part-time, 90% FTE evening shift. Shifts are scheduled as 8- or 12-hour blocks with weekend rotation, and hours may vary based on department needs.

You will provide direct patient care under the supervision of RNs, APPs, physicians, and the Medical Director, assist with evaluation and treatment, and document patient status in EHRs. Eligible staff receive excellent benefits and tuition assistance.

Qualifications

• Current Paramedic licensing is required.
• NREMT Paramedic certification is preferred.

• Assist clinical staff in evaluation, treatment, and care of patients including obtaining patient history and assisting with physical examination, performing delegated procedures.
• Monitor patients and document status using monitoring equipment and EHRs per procedures and protocols.

Part-time, 90% FTE evening shift position. Shifts are scheduled either 8 or 12 hour shifts between the hours of 11:00AM - 3:30AM, weekend rotation is required. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

We are seeking an Emergency Technician - Paramedic to:

• Provide direct patient care as directed under the supervision of the RN, APP, Physician, and/or Medical Director.

• Assist clinical staff in the evaluation, treatment, and care of patients to include, but not limited to, obtaining pertinent patient history and assisting with physical examination, performing technical procedures as delegated.

• Monitor patients and maintain records, using patient monitoring equipment and electronic health records to document patient's status, delivery of care, and evaluation of the patient's response to care according to the specific procedures and established protocols.

Qualifications

• Current Paramedic Licensing Required
• Current NREMT Paramedic certification Preferred

Work Experience

• 6 months Of relevant experience in Emergency Departments, Hospitals, or other healthcare entities to include EMS Required
• 1 year Of previous experience as Paramedic in the field (current/ongoing experience strongly preferred) Preferred

Licenses & Certifications

• Paramedic license Required
• Basic Life Support/CPR Required
• ACLS certification Required
• PALS certification Preferred
