Job summary

Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown, PA is seeking an Emergency Service Technician (EST) for the ER. This role operates in a fast-paced Level I Trauma Center, coordinating with a multidisciplinary team to manage patient care workflows and specimen collection.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma plus EMT/nurse aide/patient care tech training, CPR, and preferred phlebotomy or emergency care experience.

Qualifications

• Applicants should have a high school diploma and completion of EMT/nurse aide/patient care technician training or equivalent.
• CPR certification required.
• Phlebotomy preferred.
• Emergency Care Experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Works closely with all emergency services staff.
• Establishes positive relationships with patients/families and visitors.
• Responsible for the proper collection of specimens used in laboratory analysis within the scope of their knowledge and experience (Phlebotomy, POC testing).
• Performs point of care testing and follows appropriate quality control procedures.
• Assists with the admission, transfer and discharge of patients as appropriate, including the transporting of patients throughout the facility.

Our Emergency Department is a fast-paced, Level I Trauma Center where teamwork, critical thinking, and high-acuity patient care come together to make a meaningful impact every day. Nurses are supported 24/7 by experienced on-shift leadership and work alongside a dedicated multidisciplinary team that includes emergency service technicians, surgical technologists, unit clerks, pharmacists, social workers, transport staff, and an exceptional group of attending physicians and advanced practice providers.
