Lifepoint Health is seeking an Emergency Services Technician for an in-person, PRN role in Hot Springs, AR. The incumbent will provide clerical support in an assigned area and perform telemetry monitoring to assist patient care teams.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, handling calls, processing admissions and transfers, maintaining records, and ensuring equipment is functioning correctly. BLS is required; CNA license is preferred. One year of experience is encouraged.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certifications: BLS required upon hire; Certified Nursing Aide license preferred.
  • Minimum Work Experience: 1 year of experience preferred.
  • Required Skills: Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision; able to work in a stressful environment.

  • Enters nursing requests with nurse approval; seek clarification when necessary.
  • Assists with patient admissions, transfers and discharges; maintains patient records and charts.
  • Performs clerical tasks and stocks supplies; assists RNs and physicians with patient activities.
  • Monitors telemetry; identifies arrhythmias or distress and intervenes as needed.
  • Reports abnormal telemetry findings to nursing staff.
  • Tests equipment for proper operation and reports issues to supervisor.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Job Summary

The Emergency Services Technician performs administrative/clerical duties in support of an assigned area. Is also required to perform telemetry monitoring.

How you'll contribute
  • Greets patients and visitors.
  • Answers, screens, and routes telephone calls.
  • Calls codes, pages, and overhead announcements as requested.
  • Enters nursing requests subject to the approval of a licensed nurse. Ask for clarification when necessary.
  • Assists with processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges. Assembles and maintains patient records and charts.
  • Performs needed clerical tasks, including copying, filing, and ordering/stocking supplies. Assists RNs and physicians with other patient activities as needed.
  • Perform continual surveillance of multiple monitors. Identifies significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervenes appropriately.
  • Identifies and corrects for artifacts.
  • Reports abnormal assessment and telemetry findings or changes in patient physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
  • Tests equipment for proper working order.
  • Reports on equipment problems for the supervisor. Other tasks that may be assigned.
What we're looking for
  • Minimum Education High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) is required upon hire. License: Certified Nursing Aide license is preferred.
  • Minimum Work Experience: One (1) year of experience preferred.
  • Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
