Job summary

BayCare Health Systems is currently seeking an Emergency Services Screener to join our Behavioral Health team at the Morton Plant North Bay Recover Center in Lutz, FL. This PRN role involves crisis intervention, intake coordination, and ensuring safety for adults, children and adolescents.

Responsibilities include coordinating with law enforcement and other hospitals for patient placement, triage, and referrals to internal and external sources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Nursing, Special Education, Health Education, or related field is required.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• 1 year of mental health experience; internship in acute emergency care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis intervention and assessment for adults, children and adolescents to recommend least restrictive treatment.
• Coordinate Intake/psych ED waiting area with team members to ensure safety and welfare of persons served.
• Coordinate with law enforcement, other hospitals and outpatient agencies for placement and triage as needed.
• Respond to telephone and in-person requests for referrals to internal and external sources.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Emergency Services Screener Pool Position Details:

• Facility: Behavioral Health- Morton Plant North Bay Recover Center
• Location: Lutz, FL
• Status: PRN
• Shift Hours: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM
• Weekend Work: As needed
• On Call: No

Responsibilities:

• Provide crisis intervention and assessment for adults, children and adolescents, to make recommendations for treatment that provides the least restrictive environment to meet the individual's needs for voluntary and involuntary psychiatric and substance abuse treatment.
• Coordinate the Intake/psych ED waiting area in conjunction with other intake/ED Team Members to ensure the care, welfare, safety and security of persons served.
• Responsible to coordinate with law enforcement, other hospitals, central access and outpatient agencies by providing phone screening and triage for individuals needing placement in a behavioral health receiving facility.
• Respond to telephone and in-person requests for referrals to internal and external sources.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Required Education: Bachelor's Degree - Counseling, Social Work, Nursing, Special Education, Health Education, Human Services; Or - Bachelors - Related Field

Required Experience:

• Required Experience includes 1 years' Mental Health
• Mental Health internship with 6 months Acute emergency care preferred.
