Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing with a BSN required.
• MSN, DNP or BSN with graduate degree in business or health field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates the environment and makes recommendations to ensure optimal patient comfort, safety, and compliance with standards of care and regulatory bodies.
• Plans and coordinates quality and service activities in the department and oversees safety culture.
• Promotes a healthy work environment by fostering growth, challenge and development.
• Analyzes and maintains an effective nursing delivery model that meets patient/family needs and outcomes.
• Participates in planning and implementing new technologies, procedures and services to support daily operations.
• Assures development and evaluation of evidence-based nursing practice aligned with standards.
• Develops and introduces approved standards and guidelines for emergency service programs.
• Embraces and promotes effective change; serves as liaison to nursing administration.
• Supports team involvement in professional and organizational activities.
• Demonstrates knowledge of EMTALA and related regulatory requirements.
• Manages department budget to respond cost-effectively to patient and team needs.
