Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an Emergency Screening RN at Jersey City Medical Center in New Jersey. This per diem, day shift role offers growth in a collaborative, safety-focused environment and requires NJ RN licensure, BLS, and Behavioral Health experience.

The RN will conduct assessments, administer evidence-based treatments, document in EPIC, and participate in interdisciplinary rounds to drive smooth transitions of care while prioritizing patient and family education.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing and BLS certification.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing or active enrollment in BSN program.
• Minimum one year of Behavioral Health RN experience.
• Proficiency with EMR systems (EPIC).
• Schedule requires Monday–Friday with every-other-weekend shifts; minimum 3 shifts per month and 1 winter and 1 summer holiday.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and identify changes in condition.
• Provide safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands-on care.
• Collaborate with physicians and providers for timely, coordinated care decisions.
• Educate patients and families to ensure understanding and preparedness for next steps.
• Document accurately in EMR to ensure continuity of care.
