Job summary

Lake Charles Memorial Health System is seeking an Emergency Room Technician to assist in patient care under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. The role includes performing delegated duties, assisting with care of seriously ill patients, and supporting the nursing team to ensure comfort and safety.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, CPR certification, and nursing assistant experience is preferred but not required.

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

The Emergency Room Technician performs various patient care activities and related non professional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients Assists the professional nursing staff by performing any delegated duties specialized procedures and assists with care of seriously ill patients

SUPERVISION

Reports directly to Nurse Manager andor Charge Nurse

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Under the direction of the Licensed Nurse provides physical patient care in a safe mannerCommunicates abnormal variances of data vital signs pain etc to appropriate staffConsistently utilizes basic decision making skills to complete routine tasksCompetently performs unit specific procedures

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• CPR certified
