Job summary

Lake Charles Memorial Hospital is seeking an Emergency Room Technician to assist with patient care under the supervision of licensed nurses. In this role you will help with basic tasks to support safety, comfort, and timely care.

You will monitor patients, report vital signs, and perform routine unit procedures as delegated. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and CPR certification; nursing assistant experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision of licensed nurses, provide physical patient care in a safe manner.

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

The Emergency Room Technician performs various patient care activities and related non professional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients Assists the professional nursing staff by performing any delegated duties specialized procedures and assists with care of seriously ill patients

SUPERVISION

Reports directly to Nurse Manager andor Charge Nurse

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Under the direction of the Licensed Nurse provides physical patient care in a safe mannerCommunicates abnormal variances of data vital signs pain etc to appropriate staffConsistently utilizes basic decision making skills to complete routine tasksCompetently performs unit specific procedures

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• CPR certified
