Job summary

Lake Charles Memorial Hospital is seeking a Unit TechMonitor Tech to organize the nursing unit's clerical activities and support daily operations. This role emphasizes accurate data handling and efficient communication with patients, visitors, and staff.

Under supervision of the Nurse Manager and Charge Nurse, you will manage supplies, document accurately, and contribute to safety and quality initiatives while supporting a busy hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Strong computer and clerical skills are required.
• Willingness to work in a healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the Director of Nursing or the Charge Nurse, perform unit tasks efficiently.
• Communicate with patients, visitors and staff in a timely manner.
• Gathers and distributes clinical data as assigned and orders supplies.
• Maintains nurses station in an orderly, neat manner and documents legibly.
• Uses equipment appropriately (printer, computer, telephone, fax).
• Participates in the unit PI plan and demonstrates safety awareness.

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

The Unit TechMonitor Tech assumes responsibility for the organization and clerical activities for the nursing unit

SUPERVISION

Reports directly to Nurse Manager andor Charge Nurse

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• Works under the direction of the Director of Nursing or the Charge Nurse
• Communicates appropriately with patients visitors and staff in a timely and efficient manner
• Performs unit tasks in an effective and timely manner
• Demonstrates accuracy and efficiency in computer and clerical skills
• Gathers and distributes clinical data as assigned
• Orders supplies and maintains nurses station in an orderly neat manner
• Documents legibly according to hospital policy
• Utilizes equipment appropriately printer computer telephone fax machine etc
• Actively participates in implementation of PI plan
• Employees in positions involving patient charting and related functions must possess competency in use of technology and computers
• Assist with ordering and organization of supplies
• Is knowledgeable of and actively participates in implementing the unit PI plan
• Demonstrates an awareness and implementation of National Patient Safety Goals
• Makes suggestionsrecommendations for improved operations
• Follows established hospitaldepartment safety policies
• Understands and appropriately responds to the unique combination of cultural variables that professionals and patientsindividuals bring to interactions
