Job summary

Saint Michael's Medical Center in Newark, NJ, is hiring an Emergency Department Tech. The role involves assisting with patient care under the supervision of the ED Registered Nurse or Charge Nurse, and maintaining a safe environment in the fast-paced ED.

Required are a High School Diploma or equivalent, a CNA certificate, BLS within 30 days, and six months of acute care experience. A BVP certificate within 6 months is preferred to ensure safe, compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Education and Work Experience
• 1. High School Diploma or Equivalent. 2. Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire, preferred.3. Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current. Possess knowledge of Medical terminology. 4. Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred. 5. Current Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate within 6 months of hire and maintain current.

Responsibilities

• The ED Tech assists with patient care in the Emergency Department as directed by the RN or Charge Nurse.
• Maintains a safe environment and performs duties under supervision as required.
