Saint Michael's Medical Center in Newark, NJ, seeks an ED Tech to assist in patient care in the Emergency Department under the supervision of the RN or Charge Nurse.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, optional CNA certification, BLS within 30 days, knowledge of medical terminology, and at least six months in acute care. A BVP certificate within 6 months is preferred.

Responsibilities

The ED Tech in the Emergency Room is an unlicensed assistive person who assists with patient care based on individual patient needs within the scope of practice; Assists in maintenance of a safe environment and performs under the direction and supervision of the ED Registered Nurse or Charge Nurse.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire, preferred.
• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current. Possess knowledge of Medical terminology.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.

The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
