Job summary

St. Mary’s Hospital - Kankakee is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality patient care in the Emergency Department. The role requires critical thinking, rapid assessment, and collaboration with physicians to manage acuity in Telemetry.

The position is full-time with night shifts (7p-7:30a), rotating weekends/holidays, and self-scheduling. A sign-on bonus is available for qualified candidates, with a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ALS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC 60 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of safe patient care using the nursing process in Telemetry.
• Direct patient care in the Emergency Department.
• Guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing staff.
• Communicate with physicians about changes in patient condition and tests.
