Job summary

St. Mary's Hospital - Kankakee is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse for the Med/Surg department. Responsibilities include delivering safe patient care in Telemetry, patient education, and coordinating with physicians on clinical status.

The role requires an active RN license, BLS, ACLS, and basic rhythm interpretation within 30 days. BSN preferred. Schedule is days, 5a-5:30p, with rotating weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Basic Arrhythmia interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Previous acute care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator management experience preferred.
• RN-BC or similar certification preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process.
• Provide direct patient care within Telemetry Unit scope.
• Guide patient and family teaching and activities of nursing staff.
• Communicate with physicians about changes in patient condition and test results.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
