Job summary

St. David’s North Austin Medical Center in Texas seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with physicians and the care team.

You will assess pain, perform procedures, document care, respond to patient needs, and educate patients and families on conditions, treatments and follow-up. The role requires emergency nursing certifications within specified timeframes and ongoing ACLS/TNCC/BCLS training.

Qualifications

• Must hold current RN licensure in Texas.
• Emergency Nursing certifications and ongoing specialty training required.
• Ability to assess, perform, teach and manage patient care in a fast-paced ED.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient pain regularly and promotes effective pain management.
• Performs procedures, monitors care, and documents in the EMR promptly.
• Responds promptly to patient requests and anticipates needs.
• Teaches patients and families about conditions, treatments, and follow-up.
• Educates on non-medical follow-up, diet, exercise and self-management.
