Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital in Wilmington, DE, seeks an experienced Pharmacist for the Emergency Room to support direct patient care, med histories, counseling, and emergency responses within the hospital.

The role requires a Pharm.D. from an ACPE-approved school, Delaware licensure, and hospital pharmacy experience (PGY-1 or 3 years). The position offers full-time hours, rotating shifts, and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy degree (Pharm.D.) from an ACPE approved college of pharmacy required.
• Successful completion of ASHP-accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency or 3 years hospital experience.
• Registered pharmacist in Delaware required.
• Preferred: Experience with Pyxis MedStation, EPIC.
• BLS and ACLS certification before completion of orientation.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient data to identify medication-related problems through profile reviews and rounding.
• Participates in medical emergencies and alerts such as trauma, stroke, sepsis and STEMI.
• Reviews orders to ensure appropriate drug, dosage form and dose for age, weight and comorbidities.
• Consults with providers and nurses to optimize pharmacotherapy for best patient outcomes.
• Provides accurate drug information and documents care in the EMR per guidelines.
