Job summary

ProCare- TECC in Pearland, TX is seeking an experienced registered nurse to deliver patient care in the emergency department using the nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, implementation and evaluation, in accordance with protocol and physician orders.

You will work with physicians and the clinical team to triage, stabilize life-threatening conditions, administer medications, document care, and educate patients and families while maintaining HIPAA and patient safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on the application of scientific nursing principles.
• Collects information regarding chief complaint and current symptoms, and documents findings in the patient medical record.
• Consults and coordinates with health care team to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.
• Performs triage and assessments, while considering physical and psychosocial elements.
• Manages basic life support needs and stabilizes patients until attending physician is available.
• Documents nursing care in the patient medical record and reports adverse reactions.
• Provides IV therapy, injections and administration of medications per physician orders.
• Assists physicians during exams, procedures, and treatments.
• Reviews discharge instructions with the patient and provides education.
• Maintains confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
