The City of New York DOT invites candidates for a Transfer Opportunity to serve as a Highway Repairer. You will perform emergency and routine maintenance on arterials, install signs, and patch depressions using asphalt.

You must have experience in highway repair and be capable of operating power tools to complete tasks efficiently. Roles include patrolling citywide arterials, coordinating with agencies, monitoring radio communications, and preparing reports.

Qualifications

• Three years of full-time experience as an Assistant City Highway Repairer or equivalent in roadway maintenance and repair.
• Knowledge of asphalt, concrete, signs, and safety procedures.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools and work in confined spaces.

Responsabilités

• Patrol citywide arterials and perform asphalt or backfill repairs.
• Install, repair, or remove signs on highways, bridges, and streets.
• Prepare required written and electronic reports and monitor 2-way radios.
