Job summary

Henry Ford Health, based in Detroit with Genesys Hospital in Grand Blanc, seeks a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. This part-time (24 hr/wk) position offers an afternoon shift (11am–11:30pm) with every 3rd weekend and a sign-on bonus eligibility.

Candidates require inpatient RN experience or equivalent, with MI RN licensure and BLS. The role emphasizes patient-centered care, care coordination, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient discharge

Qualifications

• Michigan RN license required within 2 months of hire.
• BLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
• Graduate of an approved RN nursing program.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the development of a multidisciplinary plan of care to ensure appropriate length of stay, resource utilization, and quality outcomes.
• Provide patient education and support, addressing fears and anxiety through effective communication and teaching.
• Administer medications, manage IV therapy, and perform procedures such as dressing changes and blood glucose monitoring.
• Monitor patient responses to interventions, recognizing and responding to acute changes in condition.
• Collaborate with case managers to ensure seamless discharge planning and appropriate follow-up care.
