Job summary

Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department. This full-time night-shift position (7p–7a) focuses on delivering patient-centered care, coordinating care with the medical team, and ensuring safety and quality outcomes.

The role requires 0–2 years of acute care nursing or student clinical rotations, in addition to an RN license and BLS. ACLS/PALS/NRP are preferred. Comprehensive benefits and patient education are provided.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of clinical nursing experience or student rotations in an acute care setting required.
• Current RN license and Basic Life Support certification required; ACLS/PALS/NRP preferred.
• Strong assessment, communication, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care using the nursing process.
• Administer prescribed medications, monitor effects, and document administration.
• Assist physicians during procedures within competency scope.
• Respond to emergencies and participate in CPR and code team activities.
• Educate patients and families on conditions, plans, and post‑discharge care.
