Job summary

Community Health Systems’ Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for ED, full-time Weekend Nights 7pm-7am.

The RN will provide patient-centered care, coordinate with the care team, administer meds, respond to emergencies, and educate patients. This weekend night shift offers a consistent schedule with opportunities for growth and professional development.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of clinical nursing experience in acute care
• RN licensure required (state or compact)
• Basic Life Support (BCLS) required; ACLS/PALS/NRP preferred
• Strong communication and compassionate patient care
• Knowledge of infection control and safety standards

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care using the nursing process from assessment to evaluation
• Coordinate with physicians and healthcare team to develop and implement care plans
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor for adverse effects
• Respond to emergencies and participate in code team activities
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge planning
• Maintain accurate documentation in the medical record
