Job summary

NMS in Anchorage, AK is seeking a Security Officer to safeguard people and property across the BP Building, BP Energy Center and surrounding areas where health, safety and security are top priorities.

You will monitor access, de-escalate incidents, perform patrols, report incidents, and assist in emergencies. The role requires teamwork, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work 12-hour shifts in a high-traffic environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least two (2) years of security, law enforcement or military experience.
• A valid Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years.
• Must be able to obtain Alaska Guard License and pay the fee.
• Basic technical and document writing skills.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification or ability to obtain.
• Team-orientated and able to cooperate with others.
• Ability to make quick decisions with minimal supervision.
• Ability to stand and work on 12-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

• Personally monitors areas via visual, electronic or audible means across multiple assignments.
• Ensure safety and compliance; de-escalate situations as needed.
• Warn violators and may apprehend or expel violators.
• Inspect doors, windows and security systems for security.
• Report incidents and data per policies.
• Respond to emergencies or disasters to preserve life and property.
• May issue and record ID badges.
• Support safety protocols and sanitation standards.
