MedVet Associates, Ltd is seeking an Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our fast-growing emergency department. The role requires state-registered licensure and prior emergency experience is preferred. The schedule includes long shifts with some on-call coverage in a dynamic ER setting.

You will record rounds, assess patients, coordinate with the care team, and educate clients on medications and home care. Strong communication and adaptability are essential for success.

Qualifications

• State-registered Veterinary Technician license is required.
• Prior veterinary emergency experience is preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Flexibility with work hours and ability to work additional hours as needed.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced emergency environment.

Responsabilités

• Record and deliver organized rounds and discuss cases.
• Evaluate incoming patients and prioritize based on assessment.
• Collaborate with patient care team on treatment plans and nursing care concerns.
• Provide client education on home care, medications, and general wellness updates.
• Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment, and procedures.
• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients.
• Induce and monitor anesthesia and sedation procedures.
• Perform in-house lab testing and prepare samples for external labs.

Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician

Proposed work schedule: Monday and Thursday from 3p-3a and alternating every other Saturday and Sunday from 3p-3a (Full-time schedule)

What you’ll do:

• Record and deliver organized rounds, discusscasesand gatheradditionalinformation as necessary
• Evaluating incoming patients and prioritizing based on assessment
• Partner with patient care teamregardingtreatment plans, clientcommunicationand nursing care concerns
• Provide client education including, but not limitedto:home care instructions, medications (indications, adverse reactions)and general wellness updates on hospitalized patients
• Assist DVM with patient assessment,treatmentand procedures
• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients
• Induce andmonitorgeneral anesthesia and sedation procedures
• Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside laboratory testing

Who you are:

• State Registered Veterinary Technician licenserequired
• Prior veterinary experiencerequired,previousemergencyexperience desired
• Proficientincalculations(drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)
• Flexibility with work hours and able to workadditionalhours when necessary
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
