Job summary

MedVet Medical & Cancer Centers for Pets in Cincinnati, OH is seeking an Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our fast-paced ER team. You will work closely with DVMs, deliver high-quality patient care, and perform in-house and outside lab testing.

State-registered technician license required, emergency experience preferred, and strong communication skills are essential. We offer comprehensive benefits, 401k, and opportunities for career growth in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• State-Registered Veterinary Technician licence is required.
• Emergency veterinary experience is preferred.
• Proficient in calculations (drugs, CRIs, unit conversions).
• Flexibility with work hours and ability to work extra hours when necessary.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather information as necessary.
• Evaluating incoming patients and prioritizing based on assessment.
• Partner with patient care team regarding treatment plans, client communication and nursing care concerns.
• Provide client education including home care instructions, medications and general wellness updates on hospitalized patients.
• Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures.
• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients.
• Induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation procedures.
• Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside laboratory testing.
