Job summary

MedVet is seeking an Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our fast-paced ER team in Cincinnati. The role requires a State Registered Veterinary Technician license and prior veterinary emergency experience is preferred.

You will work nights on a full-time schedule, contribute to patient assessment, treatment, and client education, and collaborate closely with DVMs and the care team in a busy specialty hospital setting.

Qualifications

• State-registered Veterinary Technician license is required.
• Experience in emergency or specialty settings is preferred.
• Ability to perform clinical calculations and monitor patient status.

Responsibilities

• Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather information as necessary.
• Evaluate incoming patients and prioritize based on assessment.
• Collaborate with patient care team regarding treatment plans and nursing care concerns.
• Provide client education on home care, medications and general wellness updates for hospitalized patients.
• Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures.
• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients.
• Induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation procedures.
• Perform in-house lab testing and prepare samples for external labs.

We are looking for:

EmergencyCredentialedVeterinary Technician

Proposed work schedule; Tuesday and Thursday from 7p-7a and every other Saturday and Sunday from 7p-7a (full time schedule)

What you’ll do:

• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients
• Induce andmonitorgeneral anesthesia and sedation procedures
• Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside laboratory testing

Who you are:

• State Registered Veterinary Technician licenserequired
• Prior veterinary experiencerequired,previousemergencyexperience desired
• Proficientincalculations(drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)
• Flexibility with work hours and able to workadditionalhours when necessary
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
